Seven private medical colleges have agreed to provide 256 seats to the CENTAC (Centralised Admission Committee) this year.
The management officials of the medical colleges including Mahatma Gandhi College of Medicine, PIMS, Sri Manakula Vinayakar Medical College, Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College, Aarupadai Veedu Medical College, Vinayaka Mission, Sree Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences (SLIMS) have attended a meeting which was chaired by the Chief Minister of Puducherry on 30-06-2012. As an outcome of this decision, 265 students from the UT will get financial support from the govt. of Puducherry
