All Souls' Day in Pondicherry

On November 2nd All Souls' Day is celebrated worldwide by Christians on remembrance for their friends, family / loved ones who have passed away. On this day many Christians visit cemeteries where their loved ones / family are buried. They offer flowers and candles on their cemetery.

In Pondicherry, All Souls' Day is a restricted holiday. Mostly educational institutions (schools and colleges) have offered leave. Special arrangements such as painting, writing names have been done in Uppalam Cemetery. Uppalam Cemetery will be crowded from morning 9:00 AM to night 9:00 PM due to All Souls' Day.

Flowers had arrived to Puducherry from Bangalore on behalf of All Souls' Day. Flowers and candles business will be good.

Location of Uppalam Cemetery: It is located at the junction of Uppalam main road and Vanarapet's kallarai road (hence the name).
