Meters compulsory for Pondicherry autos

To register complaints against autorickshaw drivers demanding more money than normal meter fare, people can dial 0413-2280170 or 0413-2280380

Transport Commissioner S. D Sundaresan has announced that all auto rickshaws (autos) running in Puducherry have to install meters immediately. Those vehicles found without meters after November 30 will be penalized. Hereafter autos should charge based on the meter reading. This is also effective from November 30, 2012.

Tariff for Autos in Pondicherry
Rs. 20/- (for first 2 km) + Rs.1/- for every 100 meter

Tariff will be 50% above in night time (10:00 PM to 5:00 AM)
